I was shown into a noisy, bustling break room with easily 50-60 people talking loudly as they ate their meals and took their breaks. The interviewer barely made eye contact, asked questions in a low mumble I had to strain to hear, and allowed barely a sentence or two in response before moving on to the next question. There was no chance to build a rapport or establish a friendly bond, because he gave off very clear "I don't want to be here and I'm not interested in you" vibes. I left knowing I didn't get the position, but when I finally received the email confirming such, it informed me that I did not meet the qualifications posted, which is blatantly untrue, and I have the resume, experience, and references to back up that claim. I have never been treated with such disinterest and boredom in my 20+ years in the job market. Not only that, but a former colleague of mine applied to TaskUs holding the exact same position for less time, with a much poorer track record and a spotty job history, and she was hired. (And then fired, because she did a terrible job, while I wasn't even given a chance.) The entire thing left a very bad taste in my mouth.
