      Robotics Applications Engineer Interview

      Feb 18, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      North Reading, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Teradyne (North Reading, MA) in Jan 2019

      Interview

I was contacted by a manager after they saw my application for a different position, and we began with a 30-minute interview with mostly behavioral and resume questions. About 2 weeks later, I had an on-site interview. The interviewers were very awkward, and it was very socially exhausting to stay enthusiastic and personable with them. There was also an awkward situation where one of them responded to my thank-you email with very detailed feedback (mostly critical) about me as a candidate...did not sit well with me. I did not end up getting an offer, but they kind of strung me along the whole time because they knew I was entry-level but wanted someone with more experience. I wish they had just spared me the time/energy and rejected me earlier.

      Question 1

If you had a camera that needed to track/follow the motion of an object, what is the minimum number of degrees of freedom that you should have? What if the camera had to match the object's orientation?
