I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Tesco (Abingdon, England) in Oct 2017
Interview
I went into a Recruitment Day that they were holding. I was brought to their staff area where there were people in and out while I was filling out my application in paper form and online which took around 40 minutes. Then as soon as I had done that I was taken to a different room for an interview straight away. That lasted about 30 mins. Then straight after that, they took me to the tills to watch another worker for about 10 minutes as she served customers. I liked how it was all in one day. It did take about 1 1/2 hours in total but I got a call back a couple of days later saying they were very impressed with me and would love to have me on board. Unfortunately, I needed to work weekdays and they offered me part time only on weekends which I had to decline because it was no good to me.
Interview was around 2.5 hours in total. Started with a group interview then 20 minutes on the shop floor shadowing a checkout colleague then finally a 1 to 1 interview with a manager.
Nice environment. Kind people. Asked the right questions and I felt I could ask any questions i had. Overall I enjoyed the experience and would recommend to other people to do an interview with them.
Very easy, just asked a few questions about my experience and my availability on time etc. what days i can work and my flexability on the dates i can do
