      Technical Lab Coordinator Interview

      Jan 21, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      College Station, TX
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Texas A&M University (College Station, TX) in Dec 2015

      Interview

The actual interview was fine, the professors and HR were very nice. When I was offered the job, the starting salary was very low (the same I'm currently making working in a lab, where as this job would be to run and manage a couple labs), so I did my research and counter offered with a more reasonable salary for that job title/description (still thousands less than the Texas average). They came back with a higher offer, but still relatively low. I gave them a final counter offer of only $800 more to accept the job, and they decided to resend my offer completely. I was disappointed in A&M that they expect someone to manage labs for so little, and not value the employee more.
