I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Texas Roadhouse (Winston-Salem, NC) in Aug 2019
Interview
In 10 years, this was single-handedly the most unprofessional interview I had ever been a part of, after driving an hour to meet with the Marketing Partner (who was 15 minutes late).
This was for the NC market.
Some incidents during the interview:
-"How old are you? You look like a baby."
-"Where are you from?" "I recently relocated from *****" "NO, where are you FROM? Like, what's your origin?" (I am non-Caucasian) Then when I told him, he stated, "Well, I don't have one of THOSE on my team! That should be interesting!"
-"You know, you wouldn't even be here right now if I didn't know someone that you used to work with."
-"I actually don't need a General Manager for any of my stores - why should I hire you?"
-Being debated with that my previous salary must be false; although I provided my previous supervisor's information as a reference on my resume and reassure that he could verify.
-"I whip my team into making me the most money possible - can you handle that?"
-Taking a personal call during the interview and using abrasive language and cursing.
-Told I was "uptight" and that I "couldn't take a joke" and needed to "loosen up".
...I was still offered a position, 3 days later. I politely declined.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Texas Roadhouse (Blue Springs, MO) in Feb 2015
Interview
I had a face to face with the on-duty share partner. He said what they really needed was a BOH manager. When I said I was told by the recruiter this was for the General Manager position, he laughed. He said I had a lot of strengths and would probably do well as BOH manager since I had such an extensive career
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How much experience I had working in the kitchen because they wanted a BOH manager.
