I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The E.W. Scripps Company (Waco, TX) in Jun 2020
Interview
I was interviewed by five different people for my position, each interview was pleasant and easy, they asked me about myself and my experience and then they told me about the position. I have worked for the company for a while so i felt comfortable with the company’s values and experience requirements

Question 1
How has your experience helped you prepare for this position
There were several interviews via Zoom with the News Director and the Executive Producer, though this was during Covid times, so it may be in-person now. It was a relatively short interview.
I had an initial phone interview with a recruiter. I thought it went fairly well. He asked if I could take a writing assessment before moving on to the next step of the process. I said yes, and he scheduled a date and time for me to take it. I emailed him on the agreed-upon date and time but didn't hear back. He never sent the test. Complete radio silence. I'm disappointed because I woke up early to take the assessment and was actually looking forward to it. Companies should be more mindful of candidates' time and should be better at communicating changes in the interview process. I would have greatly appreciated it if he reached out to cancel -- but to completely ghost someone like this is totally unprofessional.
I applied online. I interviewed at The E.W. Scripps Company (Washington, DC)
Interview
Rushed, they needed to fill the position quickly. Most of the questions about where I could live as a remote employee weren't clearly answered and the rules and approved locations changed months later without notice.
