I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Hartford (Windsor, CT) in Jun 2016
Interview
The pay for this position is extremely low, approx $28000. I have managed a CSR team of approximately 60 staff members, so I know this role very well. I have been unemployed for awhile so I thought it would be a no brainier. But, the HR person told me my experience intimidated the hiring manager do there would be no interview. Truthfully, I probably would have not been happy doing this low level type of work for long and based on info on how they treat employees, not the company for me.

Question 1
There was an online assessment for the CSR role. I was contacted directly by their HR dept & was told that my responses were 100% spot on. Most scenarios were basic math and scenarios that targeted behavior. Simple stuff.
The interview went well with the hiring manager. She was very professional and great to talk to. The interview consisted of lots of situational questions and behavioral questions. Make sure to be ready to give great answers.

Initial online word interview that asks you to describe why you want to work here and where do you see yourself in the next few years, recruiter interview easier than the next interview helps if can build rapport with recruiter, and manager interview depending on level of position harder than recruiter interview depends on who you get for the interview may have 1-2 people at the same time.

I applied online. I interviewed at The Hartford (Brea, CA) in Jun 2025
Interview
After quite a few days after applying online I spoke with a Recruiter. Then about a week later I interviewed through video with 2 managers. Went fairly well. I then got a phone call quite a few weeks later from the recruiter that they hired someone else. This whole process took about a month. Luckily I gave up on them quickly. I’m not interested in working in a bureaucracy. They weren’t worth the commute either. I think they wanted someone with little experience and who would work cheap for them. Good luck training that person.
