The interview was easy; basic questions about childcare and took mostly common sense to answer. The interviewee thought I was a different candidate though and had to search for my resume. I got a call back seemingly like I got the job, so I called back and left a message and never got a call back. There was also email correspondence that was very unorganized. I ended up getting a call back a few months later asking when I was going to pick up my paper work?? Very disorganized process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If the student to teacher ratio in the classroom is a minimum of 1 teacher per 6 children, how many teachers need to be in the room with 7 children?
What would you do if a child bites another child?
The interview process itself was very straightforward. I applied through LinkedIn, received a reply to schedule a phone screening within a few days, then an in-person interview with a center "tour." I got to shadow a classroom for one of the toddler rooms as well, which I thought was very helpful. However, the center's director completely ghosted me even though they confirmed that they'd reach out with a response after a few days. I also reached out after the interview but received no response. It felt a bit unprofessional on their part.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Learning Experience (Haledon, NJ) in May 2024
Interview
First, I completed an in-person interview and then I was called to complete a working interview which lasted about 2 hours. The in-person interview was pretty easy-going. The working interview might be a little difficult depending on your personality. You should be able to show yourself in a setting that is new to you.

Question 1
Tell me about your experience
Why do you want to work with kids?
What hours do you prefer to work?
When are you available to start
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Learning Experience (Toms River, NJ) in Jan 2023
Interview
The interview was a casual conversation in the hallway about myself. Then I was led into one of the rooms with the kids where I spoke with the two teachers about the job. After around 30 minutes I was told I could go and that I would receive a call later that day.
