I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Charlotte, NC) in Feb 2022

      Interview

There were two interviews, with two different managers that were about thirty minutes. Mainly wanted to know how often I used Westlaw. Also spoke about their careers and what they enjoyed about working for the company.

      Legal Researcher Interview

      Jan 10, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Eagan, MN
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Eagan, MN) in Jan 2025

      Interview

Suspiciously easy. Interview was 30 minutes long. Maybe asked me 3-4 questions. Talked the whole time about the company and gave many examples of what kind of work I would be doing. Talked as if he already decided I had the role. Called me two hours after the interview saying that I got an offer. I didn't have to talk much because he did most of the talking. Talked about how the tasks can be mundane (and sometimes interesting depending on the case). They usually go for recent undergraduates as its an entry-level job.

      Question 1

Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer.

      Legal Researcher Interview

      Jun 13, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Washington, DC) in May 2016

      Interview

Recruited by TalentNet, the talent recruiting arm of Thomson Reuters, twice for this position. First time my profile was sent over and the hiring managers at Court Xpress decided to hire internally which didn't make sense since the position is a contract job. TalentNet contacted me again to interview for the role. This time, I interviewed with a senior-level recruiter over the phone and then via Skype, references were contacted and my profile was sent over. Two weeks later I was informed that they were more interested in candidates with non-legal backgrounds: not persons with actual legal research skills and customer service experience, to which I possess.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Have I ever used Westlaw to conduct legal research?
