I applied to an iOS listing through LinkedIn, I set up a 30 minute call with HR and when the time came they called me 5 minutes late, which struck me as slightly unprofessional. We did the typical HR questions and 25 minutes into the call, at the time when it was supposed to end, she asked if I’d like to discuss salary at the time. It was an HR call and I wanted to respect her time and the time of other candidates so I said “not at this time”. She proceeded to discuss salary. I asked her if they would be able to meet what I currently make, and she said she would get back to me after she asked their payroll department and said the next steps were to schedule a coding challenge interview.
I decided to wait until I heard back from her to continue with the next round, but the person who emailed me the schedule for the coding challenge emailed me about 4 times asking why I hadn’t signed up. I replied letting them know I was waiting to hear back from the phone interviewer to let me know what she heard about salary. Thirty minutes after I sent that email the phone interviewer texted me asking why I hadn’t set up the coding challenge. I explained I was waiting for her to get back to me about salary and asked if she’d heard. No response was received from either contact within tinder. I found them to be very unprofessional. Getting ghosted on tinder is no fun, but I never expected to get ghosted by tinder.
