I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Lake Zurich, IL) in Feb 2015
Interview
Very comfortable interview with store manager/asst manager. Very informal in backroom or as they refer to it as the 'sweat shop'. Took their time and asked many interesting questions. Was told they would get back to me in 3 days - they kept their promise and I did indeed hear from them.
Applied through website, got an email about the interview, then later a call. I sat in a room with 4 other candidates. Two managers came in to the interview and asked standard questions typical for an interview. It was no more than 15-20 minutes.

Interview
Went to interview in chino hills, California. They literally told me to walk around the store until they were ready for me and I walked around for 15 minutes and nothing. So I left and then they tried to call me and say that they didn’t want to move forward because I LEFT. Even went as far as to ask me why I had to leave ? Because people have other things to do than be interviewed by rude disorganized people.
