      I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor in Aug 2022

      Interview

      Screening interview with recruiter > interview with hiring manager > interview with ODL team member > interview with Employee Engagement member > interview with VP of team I got up to Employee Engagement. Following my interview with the hiring manager I received an offer with another company. I went to the recruiter (my first mistake) and told her I would like to take TripAdvisor if there was an offer on the table. She said due to the hiring manager being on vacation, she was able to tell me things were looking *very* promising, I had the best feedback and to stick with them. An hour later she said, we could probably extend an offer by the end of the week. I went to the other company and told them I would have an answer by the following Wednesday when the hiring manager returned from vacation. Fast forward to the Wednesday. I had my last interview with the VP scheduled and two hours beforehand the recruiter emails me to say they found stronger candidates. I am now put back at square one. Maybe I was naive to trust the slimy recruiter, but she put in writing that an offer was on the table. Extremely unprofessional. In addition I have asked to speak with her, she had given me a time this morning and hasn't called or followed up at the time she said she would. Bottom line do not trust recruiters or anyone in the interview process. Perhaps I made the mistake of trusting this person, and needless to say I won't make the same mistake again.
