I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Tripadvisor (London, England) in Dec 2015
Interview
The interview process is long and frustrating, it is outlined below:
1. Recruiter phone call.
2. Exercise
3. Exercise review with the department director on Skype.
4. Meeting with the department manager, the tech director and the rest of operations team
The feedback provided at the end of the process was unclear and conflicting with the earlier stages one.
The exercise is not difficult and the base information to work around it is all published on TripAdvisor's website.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you know about Tripadvisor?
How do you prioritise your day?
What knowledge you think can benefit you in the Operations Executive role?
What is your IT knowledge?
Thank you for your feedback and for coming in to meet with the team. We apologize that you found the interview process frustrating. We do have a thorough process and we appreciate you taking the time to complete the exercise. This step in the interview process is certainly not intended to be off putting, but rather gives candidates the opportunity to show their approach to problems and situations typical of the role.
Without additional context, it's difficult to understand the confusion surrounding the interview feedback, but I'll investigate further with the recruiting team to ensure that we're providing all candidates with clear feedback. We wish you the best of luck with your job search.
