I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TrueCar (Santa Monica, CA) in Apr 2017
Interview
Met a recruiter at a career fair. Was told the internship was for rising seniors (was rising junior), but gave elevator speech and was eventually reached out to be a recruiter a month or two later.
Went through multiple phone interviews with different teams, and ended up doing an in person analytics presentation with yet another team. Got the offer on the drive home.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TrueCar (Santa Monica, CA) in Sep 2019
Interview
A phone screening interview with the recruiter and then follow up with the hiring manager phone interview. If all goes well, a homework assignment is assigned to be completed within 24 hours.
I had the opportunity to make it to the onsite interview where I was given a quick tour. I had 3 different interviews with 6 different people; 2 from hiring managers, 2 from the department, and 2 from another department for one role. Each interview session is 30 minutes each, back to back. Get coffee; it is exhausting to repeat yourself. I wish I was better prepared to repeat myself and really hone down my skillset and qualification for the position.
I have a problem with this interview process because it leaves the interviewee to introduce themselves 3 different times, and sometimes important details are missed. I would rather have 1 interview with 6 individuals. The interview session is very conversational; not many questions were asked.

Question 1
How do you approach your managers with a promotion you deserved?
Just HR phone screen and introducing the hiring process. It was very quick just like 10 minutes and people who interviewed me is very nice. The interview is not difficult.
