Totally unprofessional. Rounds of interviews then radio silence. Get some class. Treat people with respect, you don't think we'll remember you and this will effect you professionally? Waste of time.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at TrueCar (Goleta, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
The interview process was nothing out of the ordinary. I arrived and waited in the lobby for the first manager to speak with me. I was asked several basic questions regarding their job duties and if I had previous experience in certain areas. I was also given an idea of what my typical day would be like, then asked if I was comfortable performing such duties. Because I had been selected through a staffing agency, my competency skills had already been tested. I completed tests on Excel, Word, Outlook, and typing speed/accuracy. I spoke with a second manager in the Marketing Dept., who briefly outlined the duties I would report to him for, then concluded my visit. Later that afternoon I received a call from the staffing agency with an offer from them.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at TrueCar (Santa Monica, CA) in Jul 2013
Interview
Typical behavior questions and then they required a short Excel 'test' at the end. The interview was easy and very casual but it was a lower tiered position. In my experience, most applications with TrueCar were multiple hours long. In some cases, panel interviews were done and candidates spent most of the day at the organization. For an assistant position, candidates will likely interview with a few key members of the team or potentially just HR and their direct supervisor.
