I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Turo (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2019
Interview
The interview process for the product design role included:
First Call: Recruiter
Second Call: VP of Design
Third call: Director of Design
Onsite: 45 minute presentation, 1:1 with PM, 1:1 with Lead Engineer, 1:1 with VP of Design, 1:1 with Director of Design/hiring manager.
Overall I really enjoyed meeting the team and learning about Turo and the products they are working on. I liked that the recruiter sent over a 'presentation guideline' and an overview of who I would be talking to in the 1:1s. However, I thought that it was very unprofessional that the PM gave me a whiteboard challenge on the spot, along with the recruiter ghosting/not giving feedback after my onsite. That was probably my fault that I didn't prepare for a whiteboard challenge, all though I did clarify with the recruiter a number of times on what I should prepare for, which were 'casual chats'.

Question 1
Q: What would you do in a situation where there is a feature you want to make happen but there is pushback with engineer? How would you communicate this?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Turo in Apr 2024
Interview
The process was straightforward and clear. I first spoke to the hiring manager on a 30-minute Zoom call. After that, I presented to a panel of ~7 teammates across research, design, product, and engineering. The final round consisted of several 1:1s with teammates who were both in the panel presentation and who weren't. Everyone I spoke to across the entire process — recruiters included — was engaged, down-to-earth, and very friendly.

Question 1
How do you navigate technical limitations when they arise?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Turo in Apr 2022
Interview
Talked to recruiter, then director of design, was told I would be moving forward to another round after. My original recruiter was very communicative but then I was switched to another recruiter who ghosted me so I’m assuming I’m not moving forward anymore.

Question 1
Why turo
Asked about collaboration with product & engineering
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Turo (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2022
Interview
4 rounds, no technical interview. Spoke to recruiter, then hiring manager, then portfolio walkthrough, then panel interview / onsite with researcher, engineering manager, lead pm, and SVP of Design. They gave me critique and they were honest about what I needed to work on, but they still liked me enough to extend me an offer which meant a lot to me considering they see potential in me.
