I went through a total of four interview rounds (one screening + multiple interview rounds), all conducted virtually. I appreciate that the process is fully online, which makes scheduling more flexible.
That said, the process felt very long for an HR operations/administrative-focused role. The last two interview rounds were each scheduled as two-hour interview blocks, which felt unnecessary for a role that is primarily operational and administrative in nature. A more streamlined process (or shorter final rounds) would have felt more appropriate and respectful of candidates’ time.
Some scenario questions also seemed to expect candidates to already know Two Sigma’s internal processes. For example, I was asked how I’d handle bringing a new hire into the building, and when I answered based on my experience, I was told that’s not how they do it. Since candidates don’t work there yet, it would help to either explain their process first or ask the question in a way that tests judgment and approach rather than company-specific steps.
Overall, the team was professional, but I think the interview process could be better aligned with the level of the role.
Advice to management: Shorten or consolidate later-stage interviews for operational/admin roles, and provide more context for scenario questions so candidates can answer fairly.
