The interview process for the TxDOT Summer Engineering Intern position was very straightforward and positive overall. It consisted of a panel interview with several members of the engineering team at TxDOT.
From the moment I arrived, the interviewers made me feel welcomed and at ease. Despite being a panel format, which can sometimes feel intimidating, their warm and friendly demeanors put me at ease.
The panel asked a range of questions about my engineering coursework, technical skills, previous internship experiences, and interest in transportation engineering. They were interested to learn more about my background and motivations.
While the questions were typical for an internship interview, the conversational tone made it feel like a two-way discussion rather than an interrogation. The interviewers did an excellent job explaining the intern role and TxDOT's work.
I was able to ask several of my own questions about projects, company culture, and what to expect as an intern. The panelists provided helpful insights into the hands-on learning opportunities.
Overall, the interview process was very well-organized and reflected positively on TxDOT's professionalism. The panel made sure I was fully informed about the internship by the end. Their welcoming approach stood out and reinforced my interest in the role.
