Video screening with HR personnel. The woman was personable and asked relevant questions. Explained this was a lengthy interview process and was up front about the stages of the interviews. She was transparent that it would take several weeks before they made a decision. I was rejected a few days later by a generic email, no reason why but said they were not advancing me. I know they don't realistically have time to explain why they're rejecting, but I really felt like I was a good candidate. They didn't even give me a chance to take the Excel test, which I know I would have done well as I'm an advanced excel user. The vibe I got was the woman interviewing me may have been judgmental of appearances, perhaps I didn't look like I had the smarts. I'm making assumptions, but I answered everything to my best ability and had good examples to the questions asking about scenarios. How can it be this competitive to work here?? I really think if someone else had screened me I would have had a better chance of moving on. Again I'm making assumptions, but she gave me a strange judgmental vibe. I could see it on her face. This company needs to give people a chance! I had a lot to offer and she just rejected me without even allowing me to take a skills assessment.
