I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at U.S. Bank
Interview
First average questions with HR, and set me with Hiring Manager. The interview was average and friendly. However, the hiring manager set me up for 8 more interviews! According to his email, all 9 interviewers gave great feedback about me, but... they chose the internal candidate.
Isn't it unfair that they make you lose your time and even play with your feelings because they are completing a process to interview an external when they already have the candidate inside? Uh.., that happened for two different roles I applied.
Long, drawn out, no communication from HR or the hiring manager on status or feedback following panel interview. It ended up being awkward with people I deal with on a daily basis.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at U.S. Bank in Feb 2026
Interview
Formalized process, not too many rounds, recruiter was prompt in responding to me. Pretty standard, recruiter call, HM call, team interviews, and then possible offer. No crazy take home assignments or excessive interview rounds.

Question 1
They asked about my experience and relevant hypothetical questions.
I interviewed with them 8 years ago. I recommend them as an employer, however they are going through a lot of changes right now and I am not sure how it will impact their future.
