      Universal Banker Interview

      Apr 4, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at U.S. Bank in Jan 2018

      Interview

I was supposed to have my interview with the branch manager, however, she decided to go on vacation. So my initial interview was with the service manager. The questions were pretty generic. I was told that I’d be having a second interview with the manager when she came back. The second interview sounded like it went well. I brought a lot of experience to the table from my current position. However having been declined for the position would be nice to know. It was handled in a very unprofessional manner. I tried calling to follow up on my interview and the manager did not respond. So I had called the branch the following day, and a banker answered, to which I said I was following up regarding my interview. The banker decided it was okay to state that the position had already been filled and that the bank does not call anyone to let them know they’ve been declined for the position that they applied for. How can someone run a professional position and not let other candidates know about your decision to accept or decline candidates? And for a subordinate at your organization that has no authority to know about the interview be the one to say “sorry we don’t call anyone to let them know.” Totally unprofessional by this organization. I’m actually glad I didn’t get the position, I don’t ever want to be associated with a brand that can’t even be upfront about its hiring.

      Interview

Asked the appropriate questions. I felt comfortable and the manager was easy going and let his expectations be known. Make sure to ask a lot of questions about the position. My previous banking experience made it easier for me.
