I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at U.S. Bank
Interview
I did a phone interview and was asked to come in for a face to face interview and the interviewer was late but apologetic. The interview went well and we had a tentative date for me to return for a follow up with her boss but I never received a call to confirm. After I checked back, I was called and told that my salary range was too high. I lowered my salary range for this position and had pulled it off of multiple sites based on what US Bank pays this position. Apparently those were for 4's and 5's.
Long, drawn out, no communication from HR or the hiring manager on status or feedback following panel interview. It ended up being awkward with people I deal with on a daily basis.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at U.S. Bank in Feb 2026
Interview
Formalized process, not too many rounds, recruiter was prompt in responding to me. Pretty standard, recruiter call, HM call, team interviews, and then possible offer. No crazy take home assignments or excessive interview rounds.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about my experience and relevant hypothetical questions.
I interviewed with them 8 years ago. I recommend them as an employer, however they are going through a lot of changes right now and I am not sure how it will impact their future.
