I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at U.S. Bank (Knoxville, TN) in Apr 2023
Interview
The steps in the interview process are standard. If your application is selected for consideration a recruiter will reach out to you to set up a phone screen. During the phone screen the recruiter will go over the position, the salary details, hours, benefits, etc and then at the end of the discussion they will let you know whether or not they are going to move you forward to the next step of the hiring process which is an interview with the Branch Manager of the branch(es) where you could potentially be working. I had a Teems interview with two separate branch managers. The communication on the part of this company has been EXTREMELY poor. I have never seen or experienced such unprofessional behavior. None of the timeframes the recruiter or the managers gave to me have been followed. My phone screen was on a Wednesday and recruiter said a manager would call by that Friday but it ended up being the following Tuesday before I heard anything. Then I was told by the managers that I would know whether I had been selected or not by the following Wednesday. We are now at the following Monday and still no word. The recruiter has also been terrible on answering emails or questions. I have no idea whether I got this position or not and that is frustrating because I have other interviews still going forward....
**UPDATE - I ended up not being selected for this job and I do believe I dodged a bullet. The recruiter was by far the most unprofessional recruiter I have ever had the unfortunate displeasure of working with and I mean every word of that. She barely communicated with me except for during the phone screen part of the process. It took two weeks for me to finally hear back from her that I had not been selected and that was only after I sent several emails during that time frame. She told me I had not been selected for any of the openings I applied for and that they had offers out on those positions yet ALL of those positions are still listed on the Bank's website and on job boards. I am okay with being told I have not been selected for an opening. It is both unnecessary and extremely unprofessional to lie. I would STRONGLY advise you AGAINST applying to this company. If this is how their communication is during the hiring process I can't imagine just how bad it is actually being an employee and working for them.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked questions that follow the STAR method....the most annoying and baseless ones of all. "Tell me about a time when"..... They did seem to be very interested in making sure that my experience and my personality would align well with the company and the position they were trying to fill.
Phone screen with recruiter, 7 questions max about customer satisfaction, problem resolution risk management… then hiring manager asks 10-12 questions or so, 30-40 minutes on average. Very easy if you have experience on banking and show willingness to be the best employee ever
