Very chaotic, people were left off of interview calls, communication was weeks of radio silence followed by "interview tomorrow". I was only given 10 minutes in what was supposed to be a 30 minute interview because the hiring manager wasn't added to the meeting, was told we'd schedule more time to talk, instead was told I was being dropped as a candidate
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly just what type of work you did and your work experience
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at U.S. Bank (Dallas, TX) in Mar 2022
Interview
Applied for a Lead Software Engineer and within 24 hours was contacted for a prescreening interview. The interview stared and person on the phone never introduced themselves.
They were very upfront that this will be quick. They wanted to know about my experience & skills, then we would talk about the open position and finally would see if I was a good match for the job. I told them about myself and my skills and they asked a few basic questions.
I was told about the position and given some background on the project. What they described as the position did not match the posted job description. I asked a few questions and I was told that I should investigate why they were using a certain technology, That did not make any sense to me as each company is different and would have a different decision making process.
The interview wrapped up by them casually mentioning if moved forward there would be another 4 rounds of technical interviews. Did not get a chance to ask any questions about working for U.S. Bank nor did they volunteer any details. Was not asked any behavior and/or leadership style questions and applying for lead engineer position.
If this is how the prescreening interview went not sure what to expect for the technical interviews if even decide to proceed.
