I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at U.S. Xpress in Nov 2014
Interview
3 Day Orientation. If you're relocating and bring a spouse plan to pay for hotel. I paid 75 for 1st 3 days. Some recruiters may help with hotel stay. After orientation you wait to be officially "hired". That can take as many days as they need. You'll sit in the terminal from 8AM- 5PM everyday until hired or sent home. You'll pay for your rider's/ spouse's bus ticket. Can be a very long process. If hired you're paid for $50 a day for orientation and days you waited to be hired. If you're a recent grad they will bus you to your trainer or trainer will meet you there. You might test out on an automatic. There is no assigned tester; the person testing you will be a driver that meets their qualifications.

Pretty standard. Physical and drugs screening. You'll have to sit there and do a couple of direct question other than that it's pretty easy. Make sure when you do the road test you GET OUT AND CHECK. They're really big on that.
