Found the job online through port triton and got a response fairly quickly. Many labs on campus hire on a need basis so they will respond relatively quickly if you apply one or two days after they post the job. Interview was very straightforward, asked standard questions. Found out within a week if I got the job.

Interview
Standard questions: strengths and weaknesses as well as job specific questions such as what is your experience with coding. what did you like about your previous relevant experience. Also asked why you wanted to work here, what are your future plans. Also explained study. Pretty standard as far as interviews go. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Assuming they went with a candidate with more experience. Sent follow up email and they asked for more references. Took a long time to find out if I was offered the position.
