Very streamlined process. Employees really love the company and it shows through conversation with them. Contact is via email and interview invites. The HR recruiter is very easy to contact. That person is extremely helpful through the interview process.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at UNFI (Richmond, VA) in Jul 2020
Interview
I had two interviews with this company. The first was with the internal recruiter and the 2nd with the team I would be working with.
The first interview went great and was asked to do a 2nd Video interview withe the team. At the start of the video I noticed they were not sharing their screens. I asked them if it was supposed to be an audio interview and their response was that, "The interview was going to be video for me and audio for them'. I found this to be very strange and sneaky.
The " Video interview", lasted for about 45 minutes and the questions were very hard to follow. A team member would read basically a paragraph and follow that reading with about 10 questions. They did 5 sets of these readings/questions.
In my opinion a 2nd interview with the people I would be working with should be just as much my chance to interview them in a way. I did ask a series of questions at the end and none of them seemed like they wanted to answer them, like I was wasting their time.
I learned from this whole experience that UNFI would not be a good place to work when they carry themselves as they did during my "Video Interview".
HR screening interview, typical interview questions, and you really need to know the company well and have enough preparation. why this company, why this position are typical. candidates need to be good at excel
