      Census Taker Interview

      Apr 1, 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Mission Viejo, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at US Census Bureau (Mission Viejo, CA) in Mar 2010

      Interview

I took the standard test, which only required calling and asking to be scheduled for the test. I scored 100% on the test, and, along with the test, submitted my resume which detailed my extensive supervisory and management experience. I was told I would have to pass both police and FBI background checks. Approximately one month later I received a phone call asking if I was still interested in working for the Census Bureau. I replied "yes", and was told that I would be contacted in a few weeks to schedule training. After receiving the scheduling call I attended an Introductory meeting to complete the application process and sign paperwork. Training was then scheduled, and I was employed for approximately the next 12 weeks.

      Tampa, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at US Census Bureau (Tampa, FL) in Mar 2020

      Interview

Very easy online form, got a call the next day with some simple questions about availability and willingness for confidentiality. The job is only temporary, but decent hourly pay and a nice filler while looking for other work. You will need to get fingerprints taken before being hired, if you're contacted and offered a position. Overall, I'd recommend the process to anyone. Could be interesting to be part of something that only happens every decade. Especially in today's climate. Was told that it can be uncomfortable and sketchy sometimes, so if you're not good with confrontation, maybe reconsider.

Easy and very simple questions. They do a background check and don't discriminate about age. They ask really simple questions about your personality and how to react to different scenarios
