I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at US Marine Corps (Winston-Salem, NC) in Nov 2012
Interview
Basically about a three month process, beginning from when you express your interest until you leave for basic training. After your three months in Delayed Entry Program you may leave for basic training with less than a days notice to prepare and say goodbye to friends and family. During your three months in the DEP, you may be required to learn knowledge and meet physical standards. If you do not meet those standards, you may be withheld from leaving to basic training
Have to take a few test to ensure you graduated high school. Also have to get a lot of medical checkups to ensure you are fit to join the service. Rah.
terrible, do not recommend. terrible atmosphere. terrible communication does not care about employees. will lie about whatever to get you to accept their offer. do not join the military unless you really don't care bout your mental or physical state

it was a nightmare because they were so pushy then once they knew they had me, they didn't care about me and treated me as if i was in the corps already.
