I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (San Jose, CA) in Dec 2015
Interview
The entire process involved more waiting than the time you will probably be working at the USPS. After taking the required test, you submit yourself for a background check and drug test and then wait for the invitation to the interview. On the interview date, you will sit down for two hours to fill out forms while they call in everyone individually. They basically run through a quick checklist of what you would be willing to do. The answer is yes.
