Applied via a job posting online. First spoke to the Regional H.R. woman, then eventually directed to the hiring manager in NJ for a face-to-face. Then had to speak with another manager and then back to the H.R. woman. Could have done without the extra manager discussion, but... Let me make this fact clear. I was MADE an offer, and then professionally questioned the salary (very low!) as well as incentive program to ensure the overall compensation would work for me. Both Human Resources and the hiring manager ignored my requests and then, 2-weeks later, I received an email reneging the offer--actually, one of those 'standard' emails you get when you're NOT being considered, yet I was OFFERED the job already. Very unprofessional interview process and now believe all of those who told me not to consider Gannett. Glad I had another opportunity that I didn't dismiss when my questions went ignored!
