      Interview

Based on my Glassdoor research I had already figured that communication with HR would be difficult. Indeed their HR deserves a worse reputation. Apparently they are either overbooked or they just don't care; and you can be "randomly (i.e. their schedule didn't meet yours)" dismissed. Here is my interview process: I applied through a LinkedIn ad. They got back to me in a day. 1) HR email and a Skype call. Tell me about yourself, why this position why Uber and etc.. -passed 2) Analytic Test -passed 3) Onsite interview with a manager - passed 4) Manager sent an email to the recruiter in US, CC'ed me. He asked him to set-up a Skype call with me. He didn't respond. In a week I followed-up. We scheduled a time. He cancelled. We rescheduled in the same time zone. It turns out it was a in different time zone. I followed up. And he never responded. They spent total of 1.5 hours and I spent more than 15 hours (test, travel, interviews, prep and etc.) I regret the time and passion I wasted. I really suggest you spend that time in searching a better job. In the end as I figured, Uber appears as I cool company, but this job is about dealing with drivers, scheduling, driver recruitment. For those who still have passion about this position, here are some questions to make the process less "wasteful" for you: Analytical test wasn't very difficulty but it was more time consuming than I though ( although I did my hw from glassdoor) here are some time consuming ones: 16) In estimating how many trips a driver is likely to be able to complete during peak bus hrs with Uber, which of these metrics is least relevant? .avg time spent by each client in car .avg pickup time .number of unique driers .avg idle time 19) During peak demand hours, all of the following will like to go up except: .Average arrival times .Driver earning per hour .ratio of completed trips to requests .zeros 20) questions about Uber surge pricing. Which metric effect surge pricing? Avg ETAs Avg Trip duration Comp/requestd trip # of drivers in systems 22) which metrics tell you that you need more drivers?

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Uber in Aug 2018

      Interview

Interview process was typical. Asking leadership, teamwork, and case questions to see how well you problem solve on the spot. The interview process was 3-4 steps, the last being a round robbin with many of the similar roles.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (New York, NY) in Jun 2018

      Interview

I applied to Uber on their careers website. It took about a month for a recruiter to reach out to start the process. The process consisted of a phone screen with a recruiter, a skills test, a video conference with someone from the hiring team, and an in person round. I did not make it past the video conference stage. The phone screen was pretty standard. The skills test was timed (2 hours) assessing excel skills using mock data related to the Uber business and critical/strategic thinking skills based on data and general knowledge of Uber's business. The video conference contained questions regarding past data experience and Uber business-specific questions. I found it odd that candidates needed to know so much about Uber's business practices going into interviews, especially in areas that are not public knowledge. The process was pretty quick after the initial contact from the recruiter (2 weeks).
