      Account Executive Interview

      Jun 2, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Uline in Apr 2017

      Interview

I had a phone conversation with a recruiter before I went to their office to interview. The conversation was very casual. She asked me questions about my background and told me a little about the position I was interested in. The recruiter was friendly and professional. I had to complete four assessments before interviewing with them in person. Each assessment took about 20-30 minutes to complete. On the day of the actual interview, I had to complete two math assessments. I think the interview was pretty easy but I lost interest when she told me how they manage their reps. This is what she disclosed about the position: -Sales representatives are in the office all day on Mondays scheduling appointments; the rest of the days they are out in the field -Reps are expected to see 21 current customers/week -Cold calls/sales calls are recorded for training purposes -Customer service reps call your customers to make sure that you actually met with them -At the end of the day you are required to enter all information into CRM -You must send pricing to all the customers you meet with It sounds like they micromanage their reps . I think this might be a great fit for somebody who has never been in sales before, but if you're a seasoned sales rep, I don't think it will be a good fit. Sales Representatives love freedom, especially if they are performing. Uline might be a great place to work if you don't mind being micromanaged.

From the door they have made up their mind. attend the interview but don't let it affect your morale. it lasted about 5mins. obviously they are not interested. first you write an apptitude test, very easy with examples, only you have to be fast because its timed.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Uline (Allentown, PA) in Dec 2019

      Interview

The company responded with alacrity to my submission, as I have MULTIPLE years of product, industry and market relevance completely in syn with Uline's lines, methods, systems, and markets served. In short, I was a perfect fit. An HR Assistant, very nice and open, capable, called me and clearly laid out the duties, responsibilities and outlined the process. The questions were standard but coherent. The interviewer was engaged and professional. However, I was NOT SELECTED for further consideration and given the most incoherent, nonsensical answers as to 'why. It was so incoherent that it made incoherence coherent. I WAS WARNED ABOUT LIKELY PREFERENCES with this company, but due to my overwhelming qualifications, I was rejected. I would stay away--FAR, FAR, FAR away form this one!!!!
