I applied for a role through the company’s website and was soon contacted by the hiring manager to schedule an interview. The interview was held over video, but unfortunately, the experience was not encouraging. The hiring manager appeared visibly disengaged throughout the conversation—offering little to no feedback, maintaining a cold demeanor, and giving the impression that they were either exhausted or not fully present for the interview.
At the end of the call, I was told I would receive feedback the following week. That feedback never came. I followed up politely, but received no response. It has now been several months with no update.
Overall, the experience felt disheartening and unprofessional. As a candidate, I understand that not every interview leads to an offer—but timely communication and a basic level of respect go a long way. I hope more organizations will reflect on how their interview process reflects their values, not only to attract talent, but to treat people with the consideration they deserve.
