I mailed the professor detailing my interest and previous experiences, fortunately there was some funding available. Met the professor the next day and he asked for my resume. Was interviewed some fundamental questions. The kind of software that I am used to etc.

They take 2-4 weeks to get back on their decision. the interview was based on teh job requirement and was for 30 mins on phone and 1 hour with the professor

Met with professor and had a test project to work on. Had to generate a code to demonstrate programming skills using Matlab. Talked about general things like what my future plans were with research
