Applied for a role in mid-July and went through three rounds of interviews. 1) Recruiter – Standard initial screen, went over my background and provided more details on the role. 2) Recruiter, Manager, and another Manager – Deeper discussion of how my background aligned. 3) Manager again and VP – More probing on my experience, with me having to defend why I felt I could do the job. The interviews themselves were fine and everyone I met was polite. But after that, communication broke down. Nearly a month of waiting, two missed timelines where I was told I’d hear back “by the end of the week,” and then a generic rejection email. Overall, a disappointing process that I didn’t feel respected the candidate’s time.
