I applied online. I interviewed at VIPKid (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2017
Interview
I believe it originated from a room where several interviewers were working. It seemed like a noisey atmosphere. The interview lasted 12 minutes. I don't believe the young lady ever even made eye contact with me. In teaching the VIP developed power point lesson, the interviewer told me to speed up. Then she told me to slow down. As I stated it was over in 12 minutes. At the end of the interview she told me I should have used puppets (they tell you that you don't have to but anything for the interview) and my picture on her screen wasn't big enough. I have only seen people approximately age 40 and below associated with VIPKIDS. I wonder if she took one look at me and decided I was too old.
Apologies for not being able to offer enough help during your interview process with VIPKID. We are working hard to improve our procedures and standards. We hope we can do a better job if you decide to reapply to join our teaching community!
Got hired as a British speaking then cancelled as not from America which I disclosed at the first interview which I think was silly and unprofessional at the time it was during covid when this happpened.
Very lenghthy interview process, but the interviewers were nice and helpful. There were several steps to the process and it was pretty involved. I had to prepare a lesson beforehand
It was easy an straightforward. 1 interview and 2 mock classes to pass. They offer a contract for a year with option to renew after 1st contract is over. Overall the process last for about 2 weeks from the time you apply unless you are waitlisted.
