Interview
The process has changed over the years, but what they are looking for is someone who is patient, kind, prepared, and passionate. Be prepared for mock lessons - props, aids, lots of energy. There are also countless YoutTube videos you can reference for help.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Previous experience with kids? Why do I want to teach?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at VIPKid (Houston, TX) in Jul 2017
Interview
First you do an initial interview with representatives from China or you can create a Demo Video in which you record yourself on your time. Next, you complete one or two mock interviews with a mentor in America in which you will perform a live class. After the class you receive constructive feedback on things you did well, and things you need to improve upon. I suppose a score is assigned to this mock interview, and it is determined if you should complete a second mock interview or you can be hired (most candidates have to complete two mock interviews). If you have to complete a second mock interview you are assigned a level (beginner or intermediate) and given a full lesson (25 minutes) you will teach to another mentor. If all is well with your second mock interview, you are hired.
