      Project Manager Interview

      Feb 19, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Santa Clara, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Vantage Data Centers (Santa Clara, CA)

      Interview

-Questionnaire comprising of 8 questions -2 Telephone Interviews - Hiring Manager and the HR Director -1 Face to Face with the Hiring Manager which lasted for 90 minutes -8 Face to Face interviews with Department heads -Asked for 3 references - gave 5, they contacted 4 asking them to rate me on certain parameters with examples, length of each discussion about 20 minutes. -Asked for contact details of an immigration attorney for my visa transfer - and even contacted her with questions -Asked for salary expectation and tentative joining date - requesting me to join quickly -I was told that my references were excellent but I am not selected due to technical grounds and the job was already offered/accepted by another candidate. Most unprofessional and insensitive hiring process ever encountered in 17 years of my career. I did not get the job which means I will need my valuable references in the near future. But thanks to the damage caused I am not comfortable using them again at least in the near future. If you plan to apply here please ensure that you have an offer before you share references or any other sensitive information.

I am sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience with our hiring process 2 years ago. I can state that we are always seeking to improve our business processes and that we are under new Human Resources leadership at this point in time. It is true that we often conduct phone screens, manager in-person & full-schedule interviews. This process can take time to unfold due to schedule availability. It is also true that for any given opening, we tend to engage & converse with multiple candidates, similar to how candidates also talk to multiple companies. Generally our process is regarded as robust and very professional by most who have been a part of it. If any aspects were not for some reason, I believe that this would be an exception rather than the rule. Other feedback below, on our CBBI process, has been favorable.

The interview process from start to finish was a total of 3 interviews (including the recruiter screen). The hiring team moved very swiftly - overall process to offer was about a month long. Met with the hiring manager then had a technical interview.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Vantage Data Centers (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2026

      Interview

A recruiter with the company reached out to me on LinkedIn and the first was a screening interview. This was the first of a total of five interviews. Throughout the full month, the recruiter was timely and engaged with me within 2-3 days as to the next steps. The final interview was a lunch meeting with the team, and we did not discuss the role further. (I let the team take the lead on that.) After the lunch meeting, (which seemed to go fine), I was ghosted. I followed up the first time, and though the recruiter responded a day later, they told me I'd have an answer in the coming week. Another week passed so I made one final attempt to follow up with the recruiter. No response. No explanation. Crickets. Not even a simple "no, we've moved forward with another candidate". This was certainly unprofessional by most standards, but also unkind and disrespectful after having put so much energy and effort into the process. If anything, I dodged a bullet, as this does not reflect well on the company whatsoever.

"How do you stay organized during high-stress situations when you have to juggle many priorities?"
