I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Varonis Systems in Dec 2022
Interview
1 phone call with HR, 1 interview with a software engineer and 1 interview with the rnd group manager. 1st technical interview was ok, coding some question. Then he asked me about how docker and kubernetes work from the inside and I didn't know, but they still wanted to proceed the process with me. 2nd interview was supposed to be technical, but started with the group manager wanting me to tell him about myself. I asked if he meant professionally or personally and he said personally. I though it was very unprofessional for 2nd interview to ask that, so I shared a small piece of information hoping the interview can continue. After describing my experience to him, he told me that I lack experience in some areas, which they could have checked from my CV or asked on the first HR call, since they knew which position I was interviewing for from the beggining. Overall I feel it was a waste of my time, and I got a very unprofessional vibe from that manager, I felt that he wanted to keep it friendly and personal while I prefer to keep technical interview - technical.

Interview
I found the interview process to be highly pleasant and professional.
The first interview was with the group manager. I was asked to describe a system I worked on in the past, and then design a specific system.
The second interview was a coding exercise, nothing particularly challenging if you can write code that works in a timely fashion.
The HR interview was the first one in their offices, which are so nice. The interview itself was very pleasant, I got to hear more about the firm.
After that I asked to speak with the group lead again to hear more details about the project, which sounds very interesting.
I ended up taking a different offer, but I wish I could take this one as well.
