I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (Honolulu, HI) in Jun 2015
Interview
Had a brief interview on the phone to obtain my background and then an online interview using their platform where they asked me to teach them a few sample problems. Phone interview had standard personality questions while online they asked you about the subjects you were interested in teaching and asked about your teaching methodology.

Question 1
They asked me the normal personality questions
Why do you want to work here?
What are the pros and cons of online tutoring?
What are is your greatest weakness?
What are you greatest strengths?
If you have a problem student how do you handle them?
I answered questions about how I would respond to various teaching scenarios in real time. The interviewer was a Bot, which surprised me. The Bot gave validating feedback throughout the interview. I wasn't sure if that was a good sign or not, thinking the platform might do that in any case. But I got hired.

Interview
Didn't even complete the interview. I expected it to be a normal one-way interview, but it was a conversation with a talking AI bot. I closed out of it immediately.
Makes me wonder what else they are using AI for in replace of actual employees.
