I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors in Aug 2014
Interview
There was a phone interview, and this was followed up by an online interview on an app similar to Skype. The interviewer was pleasant and did her best to put me at ease. The whole process was very well organized. They had let me know in advance what would be covered in the interview. They had sent a link to the things that I would need in advance.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I do not recall the specific questions, but they had to do with experience, education, etc. For example, they asked me why I felt that I was qualified for the job. They also asked me what my job experiences were that had prepared me for this job.
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.

Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
