Applied online in late October 2018. Was approached via email to set up a video interview the week of Thanksgiving. Immediately moved on to another video interview and from there a third video interview. I was scheduled to come onsite in early January to present a "case study" that applied to the role. This project took at least 10+ hours to prepare for. Onsite went well, they scheduled yet another "follow-up" interview a few days later. Then they left me waiting for weeks but not without periodic check-ins to assure me that things were moving forward but albeit their internal processes are slow. I find out from several people in my network that they were reaching out to discuss me via LinkedIn (including a VP who works at my current company) and trying to dig up dirt it seemed (according to those in my network). At this point, I decide that I'm not even sure I would want to work at a company with such unsavory hiring practices. On top of this, they repeatedly asked me what my current salary is (which is ILLEGAL to do in CA) while also refusing to answer requests for a salary range for the position. Finally, weeks later I am told they are getting an offer approved. Less than 24 hours later I receive an automated rejection email letting me know that I did not get the job. I emailed the hiring manager who insisted this was a mistake by HR and that everything is moving forward as planned. Another week goes by and I get another “update” that everything is ready just waiting on CEO approval. Finally after another 3 weeks of this they reach out and ask me to come onsite again for another interview (What happened to “my offer is on the CEOs desk for approval). At this time I decided that I am not willing to take more time away from my current job and accepted an offer elsewhere. BEWARE of this sketchy and frankly inconsiderate business. They will waste months of your time. The fact that the CEO must approve all hires and offers shows the level of micromanagement and lack of trust all the way from the top! Do not recommend.
