I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Verily (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2022
Interview
Rather odd interview process. Applied through the referral of a friend who works at Google. The recruiter reached out to me saying that they would love to move forward with the process. The first technical interview was a Hacker Rank pair coding with the easy LC question. My internet connection was unstable so we decided to reschedule the interview. The interviewer was kind of arrogant. After about a month, I did a re-do of this first round and got the same interviewer. He pasted the same coding problem that he asked in the first interview and because I didn't remember I proceeded to asking clarifying questions. Then he stopped me saying " I was just testing you, this is the same question from last time. Not a good start on your end." Then he pasted another coding problem that I solved in 15 minutes and since we still had 20 minutes of the remaining time, we just talked about different things, like my hobbies, work, previous projects I worked on, etc. A few days later, I got a rejection email. Very odd considering I solved the problem. The interviewer was arrogant and seemed uninterested.
Leetcode easy to easy/medium, typically array manipulation / traversal. 1 technical screen followed by 4 back-to-back coding problems. Started with a HR phone screen. I also spoke with the hiring manager by choice
