      Marketing Interview

      Jun 22, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Verisk

      Interview

Applied online and was contacted a few weeks later. Had a phone interview, followed by four in person interviews and a writing "test." I then had one more phone interview and a video interview. Basic interview questions - nothing out of the ordinary. I got an offer the day after my video interview. While I likely would have accepted, it was way way under what I had said my minimum salary requirement was. I attempted to politely negotiate with a counteroffer. After hearing nothing, I follow up and am told that they are waiting on an answer from the hiring manager. Then radio silence. A few weeks later, I am given a call told that after some back and forth they've decided to put the role on hold. What if I had accepted, resigned from my job, then they removed the role? Completely disorganized and unprofessional. No lack of transparency into the process. Totally dodged a bullet.

      Interview

The interview process was great at first, great transparency into the process, etc. I did 5 interviews within the span of 2 weeks and also sent them over work samples. Its been 5 months and they still string me along every 3 weeks or so. Each time its oh can we meet to discuss whats happening in the process? It's truly the most unprofessional process i've ever been a part of.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Verisk (Newark, NJ) in Jul 2019

      Interview

This was a phone interview and I was questioned about a misspelled word on my resume. The word that was misspelled was not provided. The HR recruiter asked why should I be hired if I don’t pay close attention to detail. My question back is, why chase me down for a week attempting to schedule a phone interview when clearly my resume is unsatisfactory. Additionally, I was instructed to complete a screening questionnaire which had 7 questions which I did. I have never been so turned off by a company, so much so that I blocked the number on my phone.
