I applied June 6th, on the 14th I did a video interview, and then July 7th I had an in person interview. The whole process is very complex and differently one of the most frustrating applications I've done. The video interview was hard for me since I do not have good internet where I live, so I had to rent a room at a library 45 minutes away to do it. It was just the same questions as before, about 8. When I was finished it glitched and threw me back to the 5th one. So I had to re answer those questions again.
As for the in person interview, it was probably the more chill one I've done. The GM and I got along really well and over all everything went really well. I had asked before the interview was over, if he had any reason not to hire me for the position.(A friend of mine who is a hiring manger told me to ask.). He said no and I explained everything really well and over all was happy with the results. He said I would hear back in 2 to 3 days, end of the week at the latest. BUT that I WOULD get a call ether way.
3 days go by, I wait. A week goes by, I call that Friday, no answer. I leave a voice message asking about the status of my application. 3 more days go by, another week. At the 3 days with no call, I'd already began setting up new interviews with other companies. I ended up being offered a job some where else, but ended up having to turn it down as my father suddenly passed away that same month(July 28th, 2019). So it's for the best I guess that I didn't get the job, plus it honestly wouldn't had allowed me to finally get to go to school. A month later I was accepted into a university in Florida for 3D animation. Also a month later I FINALLY for a random email from Verizon, no call, just an email saying they didn't want me. An auto email at that, not even one sent from the GM.
I'm not even mad I didn't get the job, I'm pissed the GM did not follow though and call me. I'm not going to whine or beg for the job, I'm an adult! I can take rejection, so there was someone else more skilled, no big deal. I'll work on my skills and try again later. It was honestly unprofessional, if you say you are going to call then do it. Carve out the time in your day to do it, I waited just over a week super excited, my parents were proud of me for finally getting my life back together after my last job had destroyed me.
I'd still love to work for Verizon, but this ended in a very negative way, again I'm not mad about not getting the job, at this point I don't care and have to much going on for it. I haven't been back in the store since then, but I will be soon since my iphone is horrible and is paid off.
