I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Stockton, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
I applied for the job on Indeed and received an email 3 days later inviting me to do the online testing. I never heard back on whether I passed the test so I assumed I failed but then I received a call from Verizon's East Coast HR dept. around 14 days later to schedule an interview. My interview was scheduled 2 days after the initial call from HR and they emailed me the address where I needed to report. I was instructed to arrive 15 min. early and bring resumes and photo ID. The interview process was awesome. The person who interviewed me was actually reading from an official interview booklet. At the start he let me know he would be taking notes on my responses. I was told it would be an hour long but it finished sooner, I think cause I'm a fast talker and the questions were very straightforward so I had no difficulties in responding. There was also a person on the phone included in my interview but he mainly just listened. Everyone in the office was very nice. It was explained to me very clearly what the challenges of the position were. Overall I appreciate that the interview process was very structured which I believe cuts back on discrimination because the interviewer can only ask a specific number of questions pertaining to the specific job applied for. Also verizon includes links in their email correspondence which gives the applicant basic information needed prior to testing and interviewing. At the end of my interview I was told I would hear back in a week if I get the job or not.
