I applied online. I interviewed at Verkada (San Mateo, CA) in Jun 2025
Interview
There was a virtual tech screen after which there was a onsite interview. The tech screen was in React with either javascript or typescript. Can't reveal much because of a non disclosure but the problem involved around the same product (video streaming). It felt like a toned down version of the problem they might have needed to solve. The recruiter had given some pretty good prep material which helped a lot.
Onsite interview consisted of 2 coding rounds. 1 was purely JavaScript/TypeScript and 1 was React or other web framework based. The JavaScript round was very straightforward and the problems were focussed on the core concepts of the language, again can't give too mich details but it was revolving around how call(), apply() and Promises work.
The react interview was about making a small component while working with grids. Here too the recrutier's prep material was very useful.
The system design interview was okayish. I feel the person taking the interview had a heavy European accent and it was hard for me to understand what they were trying to say. I ended up interpreting them wrong and tried designing with the wrong requirement. They did try to correct me but like I said before, it was hard to understand what they said. I feel I wasn't prepared enough for system design but I may have done better had I understood the gentleman properly.

Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I can’t share the exact questions, but I can say that they were all closely related to Verkada’s business and the kind of challenges you’d face in the day-to-day role. It felt practical and relevant, which I really appreciated.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verkada (San Mateo, CA) in Jun 2024
Interview
I applied online and received a call from the recruiter. After that, I had a 1-hour virtual technical interview with a team member, followed by a 4-hour onsite interview. All the questions were focused on frontend development, which I appreciated. There were no LeetCode-style problems. Everybody was super friendly.
