I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Viasat (Duluth, GA) in Feb 2020
Interview
A ViaSat recruiter reached out to me for a position I applied to months before.
After she asked me some basic questions about my background (not test questions), I was scheduled with an interview with the hiring manager.
The hiring manager seemed unprepared, did not look at my resume until the interview (and admitted it), and only asked me about my background and some work experience. There were no real technical questions.
A day later I got an email stating they were not interested. It was a waste of my time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions about background on my resume, no test type questions.
long, too many interviews, dragged out for weeks. Gave me a verbal offer, then cut the job. Won't interview there again, red flags. They were easy technical interviews, no coding assignments or anything ridiculous.

Question 1
tell me a time you solved a difficult engineering problem
I applied online. I interviewed at Viasat (Carlsbad, CA) in Feb 2021
Interview
Half hour phone call with HR
One hour technical screen with the hiring manager
Virtual on-site interview consisting of 4 interviews with different people including another manager and potential teammates
After going through the whole process, I followed up with the recruiter couple of times after 2 - 4 weeks for feedback since I didn't hear anything back, but HR ghosted me.
The overall mood of the interviewers was gloomy and there seemed to be very little emphasis on solid software engineering and design. In retrospect, I think I dodged a bullet.

Question 1
Deadlock, signals, OS concepts, linux commands, OOP, TCP/UDP, segmentation fault

Interview
Recruiter called, she seemed nice but she was just reading off questions from a piece of paper didn't feel like I was actually talking to her. She also seemed new like she didn't know what she was doing and didn't really explain anything well.
