I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Foster City, CA) in Oct 2012
Interview
Very professional and easy process. Visa contacted me for a phone screen and received a call that week to come in for an onsite interview. The overall interview process was very smooth. I walked into the lobby and they badged me in. Someone from HR came downstairs to get me and escorted me to a conference room. I spoke to three different people: A Recruiter, Sr. Business Leader, Corporate Services and Sr. Business Leader, Global Talent Acquisition. I met with each person individually for 30 minutes. They had a good guy/bad guy interview style. Very nice people.

Phone interview-1 st round
In person interview with 2 teams , VP and the manager
Some interviewers were too young experience wise to ask questions to the interviewees. The company needs to do a better job with interviewer profiles.

I applied online. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Austin, TX)
Interview
Applied online via their website, and received a call from them about a week later. It seemed very unprofessional because they did not even schedule a phone interview with me via email as most employers usually do. She talked to me for about 15 minutes asked the usually questions such as what experience did I have, why did I want to work there, and what hours/days I wanted to work.
The position they were hiring was for a 10-7 and since that would affect my home life and I needed to speak with my husband, I asked for a day to think about it. The recruiter said she would call me back on Monday to discuss further, but Monday came and went and no call. I tried to reach out via LinkedIn since that was the only place I could find contact information, but no one would answer.
Finally received an email about 3 weeks later saying they had gone with someone else. With a company this big, I would have expected a little more professionalism.

I was granted an interview through the referral program. Their new offices are very nice and modern and located on the 3rd floor. Met with 4 different decision makers in the company. They ask behavioral questions and judge how compatible you will be with the team. Casual type atmosphere.
